Job summary

Actalent in Dallas, TX seeks a Field Service Engineer to design, program, install, and support electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic packaging machinery. You will focus on PLC/HMI programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field service with customer interaction.

Qualifications include 3+ years in field service, Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI experience, AutoCAD Electrical drafting, and willingness to travel up to 100%.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in field service engineering or related role on complex machinery
• Experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and troubleshooting
• HMI programming in Rockwell environments (FactoryTalk View)
• Ability to draft electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical
• Travel up to 100% and work long hours during travel periods
• Experience with NEC, NFPA-79, and UL-508 standards

Responsibilities

• Interpret schematics and engineering drawings for electrical devices and systems
• Program PLCs and peripheral devices using Rockwell automation platforms
• Develop and implement HMI programming with Rockwell FactoryTalk PanelView
• Coordinate debug, power-up, and validation with build and electrical teams
• Travel to customer sites for installation, start-up, and commissioning
• Generate accurate bills of materials from specs and drawings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customer-focused solutions
• Provide field troubleshooting for electrical circuits and control systems
