Job summary
Applied Materials, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment at customer sites. You will diagnose issues using digital analytics and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in ME, EE, manufacturing or related field.
- Up to 1 year of work experience, internship, or military tech training.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; strong written/verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with installing and upgrading customer equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Test and diagnose equipment using published task plans and procedures.
- Document work, safety training, and processing parts as required.
- Represent Applied Materials professionally with a customer‑first mindset.
- Meet on-site safety, environmental, and COVID-19 guidelines.
