Job summary

SPAN, headquartered in San Francisco, is on a mission to electrify the built environment and reduce carbon emissions. We are currently seeking a Service Engineer to join our Operations group.

The role involves delivering excellent service to installers and homeowners, resolving complex technical issues, and collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving skills and have a background in customer support, networking, and Linux systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a service engineer or similar role.
• Experience troubleshooting networking issues and/or IoT devices.
• Experience working in Linux systems.
• Experience with SQL and command line interfaces.
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to adapt communication for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Respond to issues escalated from Tier 1 and 2 within SLA.
• Coordinate with necessary partners to resolve escalated issues.
• Create and run scripts for product queries and troubleshooting.
• Document and teach troubleshooting techniques to peers.
• Suggest improvements to troubleshooting tools and processes.
