Job summary

ZwickRoell in North America invites applications for a field service engineer position based in Indianapolis, IN. You will install, calibrate, repair, and train customers on ZwickRoell systems, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and related standards.

A technical degree and calibration experience are preferred. You will travel extensively to service customers, assist in method development, and provide detailed calibration reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline and eligibility for accreditation per A2LA/ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Prior experience with universal destructive testing machines and extensometers preferred.
  • Technical metrology or calibration experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, service and repair of ZwickRoell systems.
  • Calibrate equipment to relevant standards and procedures.
  • Use and train on current test methods.
  • Evaluate test results for reasonableness.
  • Provide customer training on operation and software.
  • Modify specifications or design new test methods as required.
  • Prepare written calibration reports per ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Support customers and colleagues with technical advice.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and electromechanical devices from schematics.
  • Travel up to 80% as required.

Our primary goal is to support our customers and their testing objectives. In pursuit of this goal, we offer state-of-the-art test machines, industry-leading measurement and control software, and complete solutions that enhance overall testing efficiency. We support applications across numerous markets with a wide range of capabilities, grips, fixtures and unique tooling that can be tailored to meet specific testing requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Installation, Service and Repair of ZwickRoell systems. Examples include but not limited to:


    • Drop Weight towers

    • Simple medical equipment i.e. Catheter systems, Auto Injectors

    • Torsion systems

    • Temperature Chambers


  • Calibrate equipment to relevant standards and procedures

  • Use and train most current test methods

  • Evaluate the result of test for reasonableness

  • Customer training of operation and software of ZwickRoell machines

  • Modify specifications or design new test methods as required

  • Prepare written reports of calibration results according to ISO/IEC 17025

  • Support customer and other personnel with technical advice when required

  • Troubleshoot electronic & electromechanical devices from schematic and mechanical drawings


Other Responsibilities:


  • Maintain all ZwickRoell tools and parts in good operating condition

  • Maintain vehicle to OEM standards with prior approval and all major repairs

  • Cooperates with Service scheduler to achieve the timeliest and cost-effective means of performing duties

  • Maintain a satisfied customer base

  • Timely submission of all report's weekly

  • Participate in developing accreditation programs /training

  • Support the quality program

  • Position requires large amount of travel (up to 80%)


Experience / Required Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Meet requirements for accreditation as defined by A2LA and ISO/IEC 17025.

  • Prior experience with universal destructive testing machines and extensometers highly desired

  • Technical metrology or prior calibration experience highly desired.
