Job summary

ASM seeks a Field Service Engineer II to install, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites. You will work directly in fabrication facilities, maximizing equipment performance and minimizing downtime while delivering exceptional customer support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent military technical training.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting OEM semiconductor capital equipment in field service or manufacturing.
• Ability to obtain Level 3 certification through ASM's Global Training Center (GTC).
• Knowledge of wafer fabrication environments and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Experience troubleshooting gas delivery, vacuum, RF plasma systems, and related equipment.
• Ability to read electrical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and gas schematics.
• Knowledge of robotics, microprocessor-based controllers, and basic software concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting and structured problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; English language proficiency.
• Ability to travel 25-75% as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualification, startup, checkout, and decommissioning of ASM equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot complex electromechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, gas delivery, RF plasma, robotics, and microprocessor systems.
• Conduct diagnostics to isolate issues and develop corrective action plans.
• Implement ECO changes and equipment upgrades as released.
• Respond to customer issues with timely, high-quality solutions.
• Maintain detailed service documentation, maintenance records, and reports.
• Prepare daily status updates, pass-downs and issue escalations.
• Share lessons learned and technical resolutions with stakeholders.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support operations.
