HireWorks, LLC is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of industrial generators and high‑voltage rotating equipment. The role requires extensive travel to customer sites and hands‑on mechanical and electrical work.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of generator systems, solid problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently and with customer teams in demanding field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field is required.
• 1 year of experience in field service engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with generator windings, winding repairs, and high‑voltage insulation is a plus.
• Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as megger testers and borescopes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting abilities, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, electrical testing, and troubleshooting of generator windings, stators, rotors, and excitation systems.
• Conduct on-site generator repairs, including stator re-wedging, winding repairs, and electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Assist with generator disassembly, reassembly, stator stripping, and rewind operations.
• Perform electrical testing on high- and low‑voltage windings using specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to field service teams during generator repair and rewind projects.
• Interpret engineering drawings, evaluate equipment conditions, and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and mechanical service teams to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers during field assignments.
