Job summary

Zohorecruit client in Marlborough, MA seeks a Field Service Engineer to perform maintenance on water treatment plants, including filtration, RO, EDI, and related systems. You will interface with customers, conduct on-site tests, and support commissioning and start-up activities.

Requires 5–10 years in electro-mechanical equipment and 3–6 years with electrical panels; willingness to travel regionally across North America and work flexible hours is essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience with electro-mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, motors).
• 5–10 years experience in system maintenance.
• 3–6 years experience with electrical control panels including tuning loops and instrument programming.
• 3–6 years of water treatment industry experience.
• Proficient with computers and Windows software.
• Ability to work remotely and be customer-facing.
• Willingness to travel regionally and across North America.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and be on your feet for long periods.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Service maintenance on existing and new plants.
• Work on filtration, ion exchange, UV, RO, EDI, ozone, WFI, and Pure Steam systems.
• Interface with end users and customers.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water treatment equipment and replace parts as needed.
• Conduct water quality testing with Hach DR900, Myron L pH/conductivity meters, and kit tests.
• Fill out Preventive, Quality and Maintenance Checklists (PQMC).
• Maintain internal documentation and submit external reports to customers.
• Read system documents including PID, component lists, spare parts lists, circuits, and logic diagrams.
• Work with electrical control panels, PLCs, and plant automation to tune loops and program instrumentation.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and proactive service.
• Troubleshoot issues remotely and on-site for electrical and mechanical questions.
• Provide start-up support on new systems and complete commissioning documentation.
• Master Level 1 training topics and be competent for Level 2 training.

Job Description

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for service maintenance work on existing and new plants.
  
• Work on a multitude of systems including Filtration, Ion Exchange, UV, Reverse Osmosis (RO), EDI, Ozone, WFI, and Pure Steam.
  
• Interface with end users and customers.
  
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on water treatment equipment including electro-mechanical repairs with replacement of parts.
  
• Conduct water quality testing utilizing Hach DR900 meter, Myron L pH and conductivity, and various Hach kit tests including but not limited to hardness, pH, etc.
  
• Fill out Preventive, Quality and Maintenance Checklist (PQMC).
  
• Maintain internal documentation and submit external reports to customers.
  
• Read system documentation including but not limited to the PID, component list, spare parts list, circuit diagrams, functional logic, etc.
  
• Work with electrical control panel components including but not limited to I/O cards, PLCs, and plant automation to tune loops and program instrumentation.
  
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering professional and proactive service at all times.
  
• Troubleshoot issues remotely over the phone and at customer sites for both electrical and mechanical questions.
  
• Provide start-up support on new systems including completing commissioning documentation and reporting.
  
• Master all training topics for a Level 1 Field Service Engineer.
  
• Be competent and knowledgeable on all training topics for a Level 2 Field Service Engineer.
  

Experience you will need:

• 5-10 years experience working with electro-mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, motors, etc.
  
• 5-10 years experience in system maintenance.
  
• 3-6 years experience with electrical control panels including the ability to tune loops and program instrumentation.
  
• 3-6 years of water treatment industry experience.
  
• Proficient in computers and Windows software.
  
• Ability to work remotely and independently without supervision and be customer-facing.
  
• Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally throughout North America.
  
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  
• Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside 'normal business hours' and travel as required on short notice.
  
• Ability to lift heavy objects at times and be on your feet the majority of the workday.
