Job summary

Datalogic is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, configure and commission barcode scanning equipment at customer sites. You will maintain and repair devices, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot hardware and software, and deliver on-site training to customer staff.

The role requires 90%+ travel, with a technical background and strong problem-solving and communication skills. A technical degree is preferred, and MS Dynamics experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of field service experience in automation or similar markets with electrical/electronic devices.
• Willing to travel 90%+ and work flexibly, including weekends or overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, calibrate and start-up new equipment at customer sites as specified.
• Perform preventive maintenance and on-site repairs on Datalogic devices.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues at customer locations.
• Provide on-site training to customer personnel when required.
• Prepare accurate service reports including expenses.

Job description

Position Summary: Provide state-of-the-art onsite services (installation, preventive maintenance, break-fix/troubleshooting call-out, site survey etc.) and technical support to customers on our range of barcode scanning and camera products, in particular our range of Stationary Industrial Scanners.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Install (mechanical, cabling), configure, calibrate, and execute start-up commissioning of Datalogic equipment at customer site as per pre-defined specifications
• Maintain, adjust, and replace onsite Datalogic devices of existing customer systems
• Conduct Preventive Maintenance for on-site Datalogic equipment
• Conduct troubleshooting for software and equipment at customer sites
• Provide training to on-site customer personnel when required
• Conduct site-surveys when required
• Participate in formal quarterly training and other training events as required
• Follow rigorously safety and security onsite company procedures
• Escalate to upper technical level problems that can’t be solved independently
• Issue timely and accurate service reports (including expenses report)
• Extend or help building a respectful relationship with customer by always adopting an exemplary attitude

Education (School/Specialization) Associate or Bachelor’s degree (in a technical field such as electronics/networking preferred but not required) or trade school/military equivalent

Years of Experience Preferred is 3+ years of prior experience on Field Service Activities in automation or other similar market with Electrical and Electronical devices

Travel Requirement 90%+ travel
