Job summary

Mattson Technology is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver on-site installation, calibration, troubleshooting, service, and repairs of complex equipment for customers worldwide.

The role requires strong customer-facing skills, the ability to work independently, and travel to support customer sites as needed. A related electronics Associate degree and safety compliance are expected.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in a field service engineer role dealing directly with customers preferably in semiconductor industry.
• Associates degree in electronics or equivalent experience in the electronics field.
• Ensures all safety requirement are satisfied and current as per local and corporate requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment at customer site; troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems.
• Perform equipment upgrades and work independently at customer sites.
• Develop strong customer relationships at multiple levels within the customer organization; manage expectations.
• Oversee day-to-day service activities at assigned sites and report equipment issues.
• Schedule work tasks with end users and track activities; prepare regular or special reports.

About the role

This opening is for a Field Service Engineer position in the Field Service Group. This role will be responsible for providing highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation as well as performing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repairs of complex equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Able to perform installation, calibration, repairing and maintenance of equipment at customer site, troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems, assemblies, and subassemblies from using block diagrams
• Able to perform equipment upgrades
• Able to work independently
• Develop strong customer relationships at multiple levels in the customer organization.
• Manage customer's expectations
• Manage day-to-day service activities at assigned customer sites
• Work with end users to schedule work tasks as required
• Report and track activities including installations and equipment issues
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks as necessary
• Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analysis, and statements.
• Interfacing with customers on technical matters
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a strategic perspective for business results.
• Process experience desired to be able to run and perform basic process troubleshooting
• Drives key projects to improve equipment performance
• Travel as needed to support customers
• Drives key metrics such as costs, uptime, safety, and parts availability to ensure meeting the company's goals and customer's expectations
• Support other projects as assigned by management
