Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support commercial drone delivery operations by troubleshooting system-level issues, improving drone reliability, and ensuring operational readiness across Aerospace sites in Stone Mountain, GA.

The role serves as the technical bridge between operations teams and design engineering, driving continuous product improvements through root cause analysis and data-driven engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with scripting/programming (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues impacting drone operations.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to restore drones to service.
• Support the launch of new drone delivery sites by provisioning hardware, configuring systems, and validating operational readiness.
• Conduct check flights and verify system performance before commercial deployment.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems, and Reliability Engineering teams to improve product performance.
• Analyze operational data to identify recurring issues and recommend reliability improvements.
• Create clear technical documentation, engineering reports, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Travel up to 30% to Client commercial operation sites.
• Manage engineering tasks using Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

Job Summary:

• Support urgent operational issues in collaboration with field operations teams.
• Manage engineering tasks using Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Travel up to 30% to Client commercial operation sites.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience with scripting/programming (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Strong project management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Drone (UAV/UAS) experience.
• Aerospace or Aviation industry experience.
• Flight Test or Flight Operations experience.

• Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or Agile project management tools.

Salary Range:The salary?for this position is between?$65,000 - $70,000 annually.? Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education,experience,and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
