The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is part of the Sales/Support team and contributes directly to the success of the organization, where he/she provides a high level of direct technical support to key customers within an assigned geographical region and account(s). This position is responsible for Spirent's Wireless Channel Emulator Test Solutions and is focused on customers developing Advanced LTE and 5G Cellular systems, chipsets, and devices. Spirent is the market leader in Channel Emulators that are used by major chipset, cellular phone, and network equipment OEMs to test air interface performance of devices and systems including Fading, Massive MIMO, and Beamforming.
The successful candidate will provide the highest technical and professional capabilities and be recognized as a technical reference and resource by the customers. The fast-paced, technical nature of this role offers a challenging and dynamic environment within which one can develop and enhance their technical skills in wireless communications while working with a wide range of customers developing next-generation communication systems and devices. The FSE will work closely with the Spirent development team as they develop advanced features for the product line. This range of technical exposure and experience will enable the candidate to develop a robust technical foundation to grow in their career.

QualificationsRequires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent. Must have 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupation. Must have 5 years of experience in cellular call flow analysis and protocol stack; signal analysis tools and wireless test equipment. Must have 5 years of experience in at least 2 of the following technologies: 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, 5G NR, IMS, SIP, VoLTE, Wireshark, QXDM or equivalent industry standard log analysis tools, Digital Signal Processing, Matlab, Digital Modulation techniques, like QPSK, QAM, OFDM, GNSS, E911, UMTS/WCDMA. Must have 5 years of experience in troubleshooting wireless connectivity issues and working with trouble tickets.

Telecommuting work arrangement permitted: position may work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Position does not require domestic or international travel.
Annualized Salary Wage Range: $142,000 - $142,000
Spirent applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience at or in line with the minimum requirements.
