Field Service Engineer – (REMOTE BUT CANDIDATES MUST LIVE WITHIN AN HOUR OF CLEVELAND, PITTSBURGH OR COLUMBUS)

This position offers full benefits, job stability, bonus potential, a good work/life balance, and a company car.

Electronics training / experience required. Experience with lasers, optical technology, medical electronics or similar are a “plus”. This position involves overnight travel around 2 nights per week. More time will be spent driving (or occasionally flying) to customers than on-site repairs, so comfort with travel during the workweek (NOT weekends) is essential.

It is a home-office / remote position, with candidates needing to reside within an hour of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, or Columbus.

This is a great opportunity to work directly for a medical equipment manufacturer in the optical space. It is a technical role, but some sales experience is a plus, as this person will also be eligible to earn commissions.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as directed.
2. Complete administrative duties including expense reports, time cards, parts requisitions, installation and service reports, ensuring accuracy and prompt submission.
3. Maintain assigned tools, test equipment, and spare parts.
4. Be available for on-call standby duty and travel as required, including occasional overtime and odd hours.
5. Develop and maintain good customer relations.

Requirements:

1. Clean driving record and strong communication skills.
2. Formal training and experience in electronics (must).
3. Experience in field service is a plus.
4. Experience with lasers, optical technology, or medical electronics is a plus.
5. Sales experience is a plus.
