Job summary

Davalyn Corporation is seeking an experienced CNC Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, and maintain CNC milling and turning machines at customer facilities across the region.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and CNC control issues, perform preventive maintenance, and communicate service findings to customers. The role requires 5+ years of field service experience with Fanuc controls and strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machine tool field service experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of CNC milling and turning machines.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC milling machines, turning machines, machining centers, and related equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance, alignments, spindle repairs, and tool/changer/pallet system repairs.
• Read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to diagnose issues.
• Troubleshoot Fanuc CNC controls and assist customers with performance and operation issues.
• Communicate status, recommendations, and preventive maintenance opportunities to customers.
• Complete accurate service documentation while managing calls across the territory.
• Represent the company with professionalism and build long-term customer relationships.

What You'll Do:

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC milling machines, CNC turning machines, machining centers, and related manufacturing equipment at customer facilities throughout the assigned region.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control issues to minimize downtime and restore machine performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance, machine inspections, precision alignments, spindle repairs, ball screw replacements, axis support bearing replacements, and repairs to automatic tool changers and pallet systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation to accurately diagnose and repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot Fanuc CNC controls and support customers with machine performance, operation, and technical issues.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment status, repair recommendations, and preventive maintenance opportunities.
• Complete accurate service documentation while managing service calls independently throughout the assigned territory.
• Represent the company with professionalism while developing strong, long-term customer relationships.

Preferred Background:

• A minimum of 5 years of CNC machine tool field service experience
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC milling machines and CNC turning machines
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems
• Experience installing, commissioning, calibrating, and maintaining CNC machine tools
• The ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Experience supporting manufacturers within aerospace, automotive, medical device, precision machining, industrial equipment, contract manufacturing, or other metalworking environments is highly desirable.
• Competitive hourly compensation, approximately $30-$50+ per hour, based on experience
