Location: Northampton area base - UK and European Coverage
Salary: c£36k + generous benefits + van + allowances + expenses; first-year earnings estimated at £55k-£60k
Our client, based near Northampton, is part of an established Group specializing in bespoke materials handling solutions across various industry sectors worldwide. Due to ongoing success and strategic growth, they are seeking a dynamic, multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to join their professional engineering team. The role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting handling solutions at customer sites across the UK and internationally as required.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will perform a broad range of reactive and preventative maintenance (PPM) activities on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The role requires a customer-focused approach, emphasizing high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Initially, comprehensive training and induction covering Health and Safety and working at heights will be provided. Subsequently, the engineer will carry out planned and reactive service calls at customer premises, performing maintenance and repairs, and communicating effectively with customers. The engineer will also document activities and faults via job sheets and may train customers and their technicians in equipment use and maintenance.
Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, assisting in installation and commissioning, and working independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and environments is essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar plant and equipment maintenance environment, particularly with materials handling equipment or automatic process equipment, with a strong mechanical background. Being multi-skilled and comfortable working in diverse locations is crucial.
