Job summary

Quanta US is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support customers across the Midwest from Minneapolis–St. Paul area. Travel within the Midwest for installation, troubleshooting, and service of CNC machinery, lathes, machine tools, and automatic bar feeders.

The role focuses on hands-on installation, repair, and preventive maintenance with customer-facing support and detailed CRM reporting. You will work largely in the field, collaborating with our internal service team as needed.

Qualifications

• Install and configure CNC equipment at customer sites.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support customers throughout the Midwest. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technical professional with a strong background in CNC machinery, lathes, machine tools, and/or automatic bar feeding systems.

The ideal candidate will be based within approximately two hours of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and comfortable traveling throughout the Midwest to provide installation, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support at customer facilities.

What You’ll Do

• Install and configure CNC-related manufacturing equipment at customer facilities
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment issues
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment upgrades
• Diagnose machine alarms and technical problems using specialized tools and software
• Configure and troubleshoot HMI parameters
• Perform software updates and equipment configuration
• Complete hands-on mechanical modifications and adjustments as needed
• Train machine operators and maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance
• Provide professional, responsive technical support directly to customers
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reports through the company CRM
• Work independently in the field while collaborating with the internal service team

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience working with CNC machines, lathes, machine tools, or automatic bar feeders
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting abilities
• Experience diagnosing machine alarms and equipment failures
• Ability to perform hands-on mechanical repairs and modifications
• Experience with automatic bar feeding equipment is highly preferred
• Previous experience with LNS, Edge Technologies, IEMCA, or similar equipment is especially valuable
• 2-year degree in Electromechanics, Automation, or a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned Midwest territory

The position specifically calls for extensive CNC machine operation/maintenance experience or significant automatic bar-feeder experience.

Territory & Location

This is a field-based position supporting customers primarily throughout the Midwest, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, western Michigan, and western Indiana. Candidates should live within approximately two hours of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
