Job Description:
Terex is seeking a Field Service Engineer to operate in a dynamic environment, assisting our dealers and customers in achieving peak performance and reliability with our extensive range of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment. The successful candidate will report to the Technical Manager and collaborate within the technical support team, while also interacting with our engineering and quality teams to ensure prompt resolutions and prevent recurring issues. This role involves both field service work and providing remote technical support from the office. Position based in Louisville, KY, but candidates can live anywhere in the US.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical support, commissioning, and service for Terex crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
- Work as part of a dedicated team delivering first-class service to dealers and customers.
- Provide technical support to the North America dealer & customer network via telephone and internet-based MP Helpdesk.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic faults, working closely with dealer’s service team.
- Collaborate with engineering & quality teams to ensure issues are addressed promptly for ongoing product improvements.
- Escalate equipment quality issues to initiate quality alerts and prevent repeat failures.
- Provide engineering with field performance data and recommended improvements.
- Show commitment to professional ethics and meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers. Acts as a Terex advocate.
- Assist with equipment display, simulation, and technical presentations.
- Opportunity to travel extensively, primarily within the USA & Canada.
Basic Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with 3-phase electrical control systems including AC inverters (advantageous).
- Experience in quarry/crushing & screening industry (advantageous).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a valid passport.
- Willingness to travel.
- General mechanical and electrical maintenance skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mechanical or electrical systems education (preferred).
- Degree in related field (preferred).
- Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Decision-making skills and prompt resolution of equipment failures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Team player in a diverse environment.
- Dependable and punctual.
