Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team on the West Coast, preferably in California. In this role, you will provide technical support over the phone or by traveling to customer locations to diagnose and repair lasers, install new hardware or parts, and perform maintenance. You will also handle new laser installations. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and technically skilled, with a focus on client satisfaction. This position requires approximately 100% travel.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, modify, and repair our dental laser systems.
2. Troubleshoot and repair equipment in-house and at customer sites, analyzing mechanical, electrical, and software failures.
3. Disassemble malfunctioning devices, conduct tests, and identify defects.
4. Replace or repair defective parts, possibly requiring modifications.
5. Reassemble devices and test for conformance to specifications.
6. Maintain an inventory of parts, including electrical, mechanical, and optical components.
7. Inspect and calibrate devices periodically to ensure proper functioning.
8. Complete documentation and reports for FDA compliance.
9. Provide technical support and training to dental office staff as needed.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. At least 3 years' experience in a field service role, troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and medical devices preferred.
3. Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical systems; experience with lasers and optics is a plus.
4. Technical education such as ASEE or equivalent.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Excellent customer service skills.
7. Ability to work independently.
8. Physical ability to stand, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs.
9. Availability for after-hours support or on-call duties.
10. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
11. Experience in dental or medical practices using advanced technologies is a plus.
12. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
13. Willingness to travel as needed, by car or plane.
