E.W.P. Group is seeking a Field Service Technician for Water & Wastewater Automation in the Fort Mill/Charlotte area. You will work hands-on with PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation at municipal facilities across NC/SC, handling startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting critical systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of field service, industrial electrical, controls, instrumentation, or automation experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Install, start up, and commission electrical control panels and automation systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, and communication systems.
• Diagnose electrical and control-system issues using schematics and test equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to customer service needs.
• Configure and calibrate field instrumentation (flow meters, transmitters, VFDs).
• Document service activities and prepare field service reports.
• Train customers in operation and basic troubleshooting.

What You'll Do

• Install, start up, and commission electrical control panels and automation systems
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation, and communication systems
• Diagnose electrical and control-system issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and test equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to customer service needs
• Configure, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain field instrumentation, including:
  • Flow meters
  • Level transmitters
  • Pressure transmitters
  • Analytical instruments
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Document service activities and prepare detailed field service reports
• Train customers in equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow applicable company and customer safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and customers
• Represent E.W.P. Group professionally while working independently at customer sites

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
• 3+ years of field service, industrial electrical, controls, instrumentation, or automation experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
• Working knowledge of:
  • PLC systems such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms
  • HMI and SCADA systems
  • Industrial Ethernet and communication protocols
  • Motor controls and VFDs
• Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating effectively with engineering and project teams
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout North and South Carolina, including overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications

• ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level I certification
• Experience in municipal water or wastewater treatment facilities
• Experience with instrumentation calibration, troubleshooting, and repair
• Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products
• Experience with Ignition, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware
