Job summary

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics is seeking a Facility Services Engineer at Vandenberg SFB, CA. The role involves operations, preventive and emergency maintenance, and engineering of critical facility systems used during spacecraft processing.

You will troubleshoot equipment from SOPs and drawings, maintain detailed records, and collaborate with multiple departments to meet mission requirements. On-site work with on-call rotations is possible.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related field with 3+ years of complex mechanical maintenance experience.
  • High School diploma with 5+ years of complex mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read SOPs, electrical drawings, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform operations, maintenance, repairs, and maintenance engineering for critical facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using drawings and schematics.
  • Maintain logs, work orders, and requisitions.
  • Set up test equipment and record results.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet customer requirements.
  • Interface with customers for technical issues during payload processing.
  • Operate forklift and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and extended hours as needed.

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, a subsidiary of ARS Federal, is seeking a Facility Services Engineer at Vandenberg SFB, CA.

Key Role
  • Perform operations, maintenance (preventative and emergency) repairs, and maintenance engineering that encompasses the critical facilities systems utilized during spacecraft processing
  • Troubleshoot equipment utilizing mechanical drawings and electronic schematics
  • Perform detailed and accurate record keeping, complete documentation including, logbooks, work orders, and purchase requisitions
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of critical facility systems under simulated operating conditions, record result and provide data/quality records at project reviews.
  • Collect and provide analysis of technical data
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements
  • Provide customer interface for technical issues during payload processing
  • Handle materials, including operating a fork truck, and participate in critical spare part control
  • Occasionally participate in on-call rotation and work extended hours when required
  • Make recommendations for operational improvement for facility systems
  • Follow Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field and 3+ years of experience in complex mechanical maintenance and repair, or H.S. diploma and 5+ years of experience in complex mechanical maintenance and repair
  • Read, understand, and work from Standard Operating Procedures, electrical drawings, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Experience working around space vehicle flight hardware, and clean room operations and protocols
  • Ability to work independently within a cross-functional team
  • Able to supervise contractors and vendors performing work in the facility as needed
  • Capable of walking and moving around job site
  • Active TS/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain)
Preferred Additional Skills
  • 6+ years of Integrated Processing Facility experience
  • In depth knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Ability to multi-task and manage/accommodate multiple projects
