Reporting Line

This position reports to: Field Service Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute work to meet assigned objectives. Responsibilities include performing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment.

The work model for the role is: #LI - Remote

This role contributes to the Electrification Service Division in Neenah, WI - Central area.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Communicating with internal and external customers via phone/email to schedule jobs, order materials, and perform safety analysis and paperwork prior to work.
• Conducting work activities in compliance with ABB HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), ABB Way, and Safety policies at all times.
• Executing projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, PLCs, relays, and power management controls.
• Participating in outages with other engineers, technicians, and contractors, including project management and site engineers. Performing administrative tasks like writing reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job and expense reports thoroughly and timely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably Electrical or Mechanical, or High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 years of field engineering experience or equivalent (e.g., military service).
• Ability to handle/move equipment over several hundred pounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75%, with a valid passport and driver's license.
• Knowledge of the industrial customer base in the area is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing power distribution and delivery equipment, including low and medium voltage breakers, switchgear, relays, and transformers, are preferred.
• Experience in repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, Square D, Multilin relays, and Switzer Relays) is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines and control systems are a plus.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
