Base pay range

$76,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr

* REQUIRED: this client is specifically seeking candidates with at least 4 years of US Military experience – Nuke EM / Prime Power background highly preferred.*

Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client on their search for a Field Service Engineer. As a growing leader in operation for over 100 years, they offer engineering and manufacturing expertise and custom solutions to pressing power challenges.

This field office is located approximately 35 miles south of downtown Atlanta, with up to 60% local travel required (sometimes on short notice).

Substation experience is highly preferred (prior construction, maintenance, or test roles).

Compensation: $76,000-110,000 base salary (+ $2-3K relocation assistance available)

Travel: 40–60%

Responsibilities:
  • Install, adjust, and troubleshoot high-voltage switches and devices in electric utility substations, including disconnect switches, circuit switchers, load break switches, capacitor switches, circuit breakers, transformers, mobile trailers, ballistic walls, and other products.
  • Provide technical support to Field Service Technicians.
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of electronic systems.
  • Instruct on installation and adjustment of equipment; present technical information on equipment design.
  • Repair or adjust equipment, replace worn parts, and maintain electrical components.
  • Use measurement tools like oscilloscopes, micrometers, and testers to troubleshoot and calibrate circuits.
  • Maintain detailed equipment logs.
  • Inspect equipment components for defects or proper assembly.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Calibrate testing instruments and equipment.
  • Review work orders and coordinate with equipment operators to diagnose issues.
  • Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Operate equipment for demonstrations or malfunction analysis.
Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of US Military experience, preferably Nuke EM / Prime Power background.
  • 1-5 years of experience with high and low-voltage equipment.
  • Ability to travel 40-60% on short notice.
  • Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting.
