Job summary

Sonic Internet + Phone is hiring a Drop Technician to support the SoCal Market. This full-time role involves attaching service drops from aerial strands to customer buildings, traveling on company vehicles, and working in a team-focused environment to deliver reliable service.

The position requires up to 75 lbs lifting, adherence to OSHA/GO 95 safety standards, and occasional overtime. You’ll operate dispatch software, maintain equipment, and ensure all visits are completed daily.

Responsibilities

• Understand and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and GO 95; follow company policies.
• Set up ladders per Field Service training handbook and safety policies.
• Must be comfortable in a team environment.
• Set up traffic control zones as trained.
• Assist with setting up boom truck for operation.
• Keep inventory of supplies for daily operation.
• Ensure personal, team, and company safety; report injuries.
• Be proficient with dispatch/workflow software and receive location duties.
• Handle company vehicles, tools, and credit cards responsibly.
• Follow safety procedures; report accidents immediately.
• Maintain insurance paperwork and vehicle records; keep a valid local driver’s license.
• Maintain a clean driving record as per insurance requirements.
• Able to lift and carry 75lbs.
• Communicate professionally with Sonic staff, customers, and public.
• Complete all scheduled visits by end of day; willingness to work overtime.
