About The Job

Cityside Fiber seeks an experienced FTTH Service Drop Technician to deliver high-quality fiber internet installations and maintenance. You’ll be the frontline ambassador for our services, ensuring seamless "last mile" connections to homes and businesses. Success requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude in fast-paced field environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair fiber drop cables from distribution points to customer premises.
• Plan pathways, route fiber optic cables, and perform trenching/boring with minimal property impact.
• Troubleshoot signal issues and test connections for optimal performance.
• Operate equipment (e.g., trenchers, boring machines) safely and efficiently.
• Landscaping and Property Preservation including concrete sidewalk and driveway boring.
• Communicate clearly with customers to schedule visits, explain installations, and provide updates.
• Document work orders and adhere to safety/compliance standards.
• Uphold Cityside Fiber’s values of trust, integrity, and innovation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a drop technician (fiber optic experience preferred).
• High school diploma; technical certifications (e.g., Fiber Optic Association) a plus.
• Proficiency in aerial/underground installations and pathway design.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all conditions.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and reliable insured vehicle.

Location

Our Headquarters and field offices are in Irvine. May be required to travel to project/customer sites to fulfill job responsibilities.
