Job summary

Cummins in Avondale, AZ seeks a Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to diagnose and complete less complex engine repairs at the customer site. The role supports the Distribution business with on-site service in Avondale and offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

You will perform maintenance using diagnostic tools and keep detailed service records. Successful candidates have a basic field service background, knowledge of engine products, and customer-service experience, plus DOT

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.
• Locally valid driving permit.
• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.
• 3 years driving experience.
• 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop.
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

Job Summary:

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site.

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Avondale, AZ).

We offer up to $5000 sign on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits!

Will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Completes complex internal engine repairs

• Performs engine overhauls unassisted

• Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

• Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

• A current valid license is required for this role

• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

• 3 years driving experience

• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

• A current valid license is required for this role

• This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

• 3 years driving experience

• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

• Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Basic level field service work experience

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Customer service experience

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
