Description

Morrison Industrial Equipment is seeking Full Time Field Service Diesel Mechanics to operate within the Canton area. This role is based out of our Brighton branch at 1183 S Old US Highway 23 Brighton, MI 48116.

A Field Service Technician travels locally to customer sites using a company van to perform repairs on various equipment, primarily forklifts. A valid, good standing driver’s license is required, along with pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and background check.

The position offers Monday-Friday, first shift hours, 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime.

Compensation starts at $25/hour, negotiable based on experience.

Training occurs at our Brighton branch for six weeks. Post-training, a company van is provided, and the commute is from your home to local customer sites. Occasional trips to Brighton for meetings and parts are also required.

Our Service Technicians typically:

• Have 2+ years of Diesel Mechanics experience
• Possess good customer relations and communication skills
• Work well independently and as part of a team
• Utilize technology such as laptops or tablets
• Hold a valid driver’s license in good standing
• Have strong mechanical aptitude
• Can lift up to 50 pounds

Essential functions include:

• Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns
• Communicating repair needs to customers
• Completing work orders promptly
• Coordinating with parts and service departments
• Maintaining work van cleanliness and stock
• Following safety procedures
• Attending scheduled shifts reliably
• Performing additional duties as assigned

We provide training for industry newcomers and experienced workers. All new technicians are enrolled in our paid training program, which includes classroom, hands-on, e-learning, and mentoring components.

No tools? No problem! Our “Tools for Technicians” program supplies all necessary tools upon onboarding. This 18-month program allows technicians to keep tools after completion and offers opportunities to earn certifications and additional income for tools.
