Job summary

Thompson Machinery is seeking a Field Service Coordinator to manage off-site electric power generation equipment service and repairs. You will assist technicians with locating jobsites and equipment, coordinate service documentation, and support all service operations including scheduling, billing, and warranty tasks.

This role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to work with customer and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Three or more years of relevant experience.
• Technical English language skills; ability to write routine reports and effective correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
• Able to calculate figures such as averages and percentages.
• Able to organize, pursue, and complete projects.
• Understand the basic dynamics of equipment operation and design.
• Familiar with basic computer systems: Excel, Access, Word, Outlook; Dealer CRM; DBS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resources and personnel schedules.
• Maintain effective work, vacation and training schedules for assigned staff.
• Process repair parts orders and returns.
• Open and update work orders and segments.
• Enter labor hours and close work orders timely.
• Schedule service for customer equipment.
• Prepare and distribute reports for analysis to department manager.
• Access customer and equipment history via the dealer system.
• Read and apply technical information from service manuals and schematics.
• Respond to customer service needs with clear communication and follow-through.
• Maximize value by coordinating service activities and supporting field technicians.
