Job summary

ATC Automation in Cookeville, TN is seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer for the Life Sciences Division. You will support custom automation equipment on installation, startup, validation, and ongoing operation, traveling to customer facilities in the U.S. and abroad.

You'll develop PLC programs, troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic systems, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver reliable production solutions across life sciences and manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
5+ years in controls engineering, field service engineering, automation, or related roles.
Strong troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment.
Experience with PLC programming and debugging.
Good communication and collaboration with customers.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer facilities in the U.S. and internationally to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize equipment.
Provide hands-on technical support during installation, startup, commissioning, validation, and customer acceptance.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, robotics, and controls issues and implement solutions.
Provide remote support and work with customers to improve machine performance and reliability.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and keep projects moving forward.
Develop, troubleshoot, and modify PLC programs, HMI applications, and motion control scripts.
