Chemtek is hiring a Field Service Technician I to install, maintain, and repair spray and delivery equipment at customer sites in the Kentucky region. The role blends shop work with regional service, requiring about 30% travel and independent problem solving.

You will diagnose pumps, valves, and electrical components, perform preventive maintenance, and keep detailed service records while delivering top-notch customer support. A strong mechanical background helps you succeed.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of mechanical experience with equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work independently in field service environments.
• Valid driver's license; able to travel ~30% including overnight trips.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• DOT Medical Card ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Install chemical storage, pumping, spray, and delivery systems at customer sites (plants and facilities).
• Complete standard installations with limited supervision.
• Diagnose and repair pumps, hoses, valves, filters, fittings, plumbing, and basic electrical components.
• Deliver PavePro products in totes, drums, or concentrates.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Maintain accurate work orders, inspection reports, parts records, and customer notes.
• Communicate status, problems, and recommended repairs to customers and Chemtek management.
• Maintain tools, service vehicle, and safety equipment.

Chemtek is a family-owned American manufacturer that has served the asphalt industry for 50 years. Our PavePro products and chemical-delivery systems are used by asphalt producers and paving companies to improve safety, cleanliness, and operating efficiency.

We are seeking a Field Service Technician I to install, maintain, and repair Chemtek spray and delivery equipment at customer locations. This position combines hands-on shop work, regional customer service and delivery, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and approximately 30% travel.

This is a good opportunity for a mechanically skilled person who is ready to work more independently and develop a career in industrial field service.

What You’ll Do

• Install chemical storage, pumping, spray, and delivery systems at asphalt plants and other customer locations.
• Work on your own to complete standard equipment installations with limited supervision.
• Diagnose and repair common problems involving pumps, hoses, valves, filters, fittings, plumbing, and basic electrical components.
• Deliver PavePro chemical products in totes, drums, or concentrate containers.
• Perform scheduled preventive-maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Maintain accurate work orders, inspection reports, parts records, and customer-service notes.
• Communicate job status, equipment problems, and recommended repairs to customers and Chemtek management.
• Maintain assigned tools, spare parts, service vehicle, and safety equipment.

What We’re Looking For

• Someone who loves fixing things - Is a natural mechanic wants to learn more about industrial equipment.
• Someone who likes helping people.
• At least 2 years mechanical experience with equipment maintenance, pumps, plumbing, automotive repair, agricultural equipment, or manufacturing.
• Ability to complete routine mechanical repairs independently.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring, switches, motors, or 12-volt controls is preferred.
• Provides Own Tools and had ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and common diagnostic equipment.
• At least two years of safe driving experience.
• Ability to operate a heavy-duty pickup or service truck and tow a utility trailer.
  
• CDL license is preferred but Not Required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30%, including overnight travel.
• Ability to work independently on active industrial sites and follow PPE and site-safety requirements.
  
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work occasionally on elevated industrial platforms, ladders, and catwalks.

Schedule

• Full-time, hourly position.
• Primarily Monday through Friday.
• Approximately 30% travel, including overnight assignments.
• Some early starts and overtime may be required during the paving season.
