Job summary

Prime Partners is seeking a Security Technician to perform hands-on field installations of access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage security infrastructure. You will guide junior technicians, support subcontractors, and ensure systems operate correctly from day one.

The role requires reading plans, communicating with customers, and working independently or with a crew. You will install cabling (Cat5e/6/6a), terminate RJ45s, perform copper testing, and build out IDFs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting access control and CCTV systems.
• Experience with Lenel, Brivo, CCURE 9000, Genetec, DMP, Avigilon brands.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to read security drawings and communicate system design to customers and field crews.
• Able to climb and lift equipment; lift-certification possible when required.
• Supervisor references required.
• Experience with copper and fiber installs.

Responsibilities

• Support field teams and coordinate work alongside subcontractors.
• Install and troubleshoot access control systems, security cameras, CCTV, paging devices, and related hardware.
• Read plans and explain the system to customers.
• Run and dress structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) per job specs.
• Terminate RJ45s at patch panels using punch-down tools.
• Perform copper testing and maintain documentation.
