Job summary

In-Telecom is seeking a Field Security / ACS Technician in Louisiana to install, program, and support physical security systems at customer sites. You will perform on-site and remote support, collaborate with vendors, and maintain thorough documentation to ensure system stability and alignment with customer needs.

The role requires 2–5 years of hands-on experience in physical security or low-voltage systems, strong networking basics, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Two to five years of hands-on experience in physical security or low-voltage industries.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and manuals.
  • Must be legally authorized to work.
  • Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control equipment.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support; diagnose and resolve issues.

Description

The Field Service Technician (ACS) installs, programs, maintains, and supports physical security and low-voltage systems at customer locations. This role provides responsive onsite and remote technical support, collaborates with construction teams and outside vendors, maintains accurate technical documentation, and helps ensure systems remain stable, available, and aligned with customer needs. The technician is expected to demonstrate strong technical judgment, professional communication, and a customer-first approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, test, service, and maintain surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access control equipment, and related field devices. Help ensure system stability and availability following installation or service work.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Provide onsite and remote technical support. Diagnose system, device, connectivity, and configuration issues, then implement timely resolutions designed to minimize disruption to customer operations.

  • Project and Vendor Collaboration: Coordinate with construction teams, external vendors, internal team members, and customer contacts to support successful installations, service activities, and technology requirements.
  • Proactive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance, system checks, backups, upgrades, and related proactive work to identify and address potential issues before they affect operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and complete records of installations, configurations, service activity, troubleshooting steps, system changes, and recommended follow-up actions.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing: Develop or contribute to technical documentation and training materials. Provide formal or informal instruction to staff and customers as appropriate to support effective system use and team capability.
  • Customer Service: Communicate professionally, set clear expectations, protect the customer experience, and represent In-Telecom with integrity, excellence, and commitment.
  • Emergency Support: Respond promptly and professionally to after-hours emergency calls and service requests as needed.
  • Safety and Standards: Follow applicable safety practices, customer-site requirements, manufacturer guidance, and company procedures while performing field work.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support customers, the team, and company objectives.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Two to five years of hands-on experience in the physical security, fire alarm, or low-voltage communications industry, including field-device installation and system programming.
  • Familiarity with leading surveillance, security, alarm, and access control systems; specific product knowledge is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, gateways, routers, and switches.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and related documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-first approach.
  • Ability to organize work, manage changing priorities, and complete assignments with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with internal teams, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Education, Licensing, and Work Authorization
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional technical education, manufacturer training, or industry certification preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Work Environment and Position Expectations
  • Work is performed at customer and project locations as well as through remote-support channels, depending on the assignment.
  • The role requires regular travel to service and installation locations and reliable response to scheduled assignments.
  • After-hours availability may be required for emergency calls or service requests.
  • The employee must be able to safely perform the essential functions of field installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting work, with or without reasonable accommodation.
