Job summary

Cogent Talent Solutions is seeking an Outside Sales & Business Development Representative for this field-based role servicing Des Moines and surrounding markets. You will build relationships with commercial accounts, fleet operators, and related organizations to generate new business and grow revenue.

The position offers a base salary with an uncapped commission structure, full-time hours, and the opportunity to turn daily sales activity into measurable results through steady pipeline

Qualifications

• Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business.
• Strong communication, follow-up, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based sales role.
• Organized and able to manage multiple prospects, accounts, and follow-up commitments.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally throughout the Des Moines area.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across commercial, fleet, rental, municipal, and local business channels.
• Conduct regular outside sales visits, calls, emails, and follow-up activity to build pipeline and create new opportunities.
• Develop relationships with decision-makers, influencers, office staff, service managers, fleet managers, and business owners.
• Promote company value proposition around quality repairs, local accountability, technical expertise, customer service, and convenience.
• Support growth in commercial and fleet accounts by identifying companies that own, lease, or manage multiple vehicles.
• Help develop and promote referral programs, fleet inspection opportunities, and other revenue-generating initiatives.
