Job summary

Divcon in Irving, Texas seeks a Safety Technician to support on-site safety for BAS/BMS installations and services. You will observe work activities, enforce safe practices, and ensure OSHA NFPA NEC compliance.

This role partners with field technicians, supervisors, and project managers to uphold safety on active job sites. Requires 3+ years in safety within construction/HVAC/electrical, OSHA 1910/1926 familiarity, and OSHA 30 certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• OSHA 30 certification within the past two years is required.
• 3+ years of safety experience in construction, HVAC, electrical, or low voltage systems.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926, NFPA 70E, NEC and related standards.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead safety meetings.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing project needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety audits and job site inspections on BAS/BMS low voltage projects to ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Support site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; lead root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, training logs, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure their safety compliance with company protocols.
• Assist in developing and enforcing safe work procedures aligned with NFPA, NEC, OSHA 1910/1926.
• Serve as a safety point of contact for field personnel and provide guidance on daily safety practices.
