Job summary

Divcon is seeking a Safety Technician to support day-to-day safety on active BAS/BMS projects. You will observe field activities, reinforce safe practices, and help ensure OSHA compliance across low-voltage installations and servicing on multiple sites.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in safety, OSHA/NFPA/NEC knowledge, and the ability to travel. OSHA 30 certification is required or provided during onboarding. Team collaboration and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in safety within construction, HVAC, electrical, or low voltage systems.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926, NFPA 70E, NEC, and related standards.
• Proficiency in hazard recognition, risk mitigation, and job site safety enforcement.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead safety meetings.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting to changing project needs.
• OSHA 30 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.
• If certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 30 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety audits and job site inspections on BAS/BMS low voltage projects to ensure adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
• Support site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for new and ongoing installations and service projects.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; lead root cause analysis and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, training logs, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure their compliance with company safety protocols.
• Assist in developing and enforcing safe work procedures aligned with NFPA, NEC, OSHA 1910/1926, and other industry-specific standards.
• Serve as a safety point of contact for field personnel and provide guidance on daily safety practices.
