Job summary

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. is seeking a Safety Support professional to oversee safety across operations, spending about 85% of time in the field.

You will promote safe work practices, identify hazards, and support compliance with OSHA and company policies to protect employees, subcontractors, and the traveling public in Georgia. Duties include implementing the safety program, conducting jobsite safety audits, training on fall protection and road construction hazards, investigating

Qualifications

• Must have on-the-job experience in safety training.
• High school diploma; advanced safety/construction degree preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and recordkeeping; strong injury management skills.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels; available weekends and nights.
• 3+ years safety experience in road/highway construction.

Responsibilities

• Implement and supervise the safety program and OSHA compliance.
• Perform jobsite safety audits and report findings to safety leadership.
• Provide training in Fall Protection, Excavations, Confined Spaces, Traffic Control.
• Investigate incidents and identify causes and solutions.
• Coordinate initial medical care for injured employees.
