C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc., the leading asphalt manufacturer and road builder in the Southeast, has an immediate opening for a Field Safety Representative. This role focuses on safety site support visits to our Middle Tennessee asphalt operations, with approximately 85% field time across the state.

Travel within Tennessee and weekend work may be required to keep crews safe and compliant. The Field Safety Representative will oversee safety programs, train staff and coordinate with

Qualifications

• Comfort with public speaking and delivering safety trainings.
• Ability to travel statewide, with possible overnight stays.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety site visits at asphalt operations.
• Provide field safety support and trainings.
• Work up to 85% field time across Middle Tennessee.
• Coordinate with divisions and night work as needed.
• Ensure safety of employees and traveling public.
• Build relationships with employees and supervision.
• Understand road construction including bridge, grading, asphalt.
• Maintain valid driver's license.
• Manage time effectively.

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc., the leading asphalt manufacturer, and road builder in the Southeast, have an immediate opening for aField Safety Representative. This position will provide safety site support visits to our asphalt operations in Middle Tennessee. The Safety Representative will be expected to spend approximately 85% of their time in the field. This position will be responsible for a wide range of duties related to the safety of our employees and the traveling public in the State of Tennessee.

Principal Duties: Below are the duties that are priorities to the individual selected for the position:

• Basic computer skills
• No fear of public speaking
• Ability to conduct training to large groups
• Confidence in making decisions
• Able to travel within the state (possible overnight)
• Provide Site Support visits all divisions including night work
• Approachable personality and ability to build working relationships with fellow employees and supervision
• General understanding of road construction including bridge, grading, and asphalt construction.
• Have valid driver's license
• Time Management Skills
