Job summary

IJC-HRS Staffing is seeking a Safety Specialist to lead the site safety program on a Boise project. You will educate staff, train subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety policies while spending most time in the field coaching craft employees.

You will build relationships with customer reps, create safety reports, and facilitate safety trainings tailored to project specifics. A minimum of five years in maintenance/construction safety is required, with OSHA 30 and LOTO expertise strongly

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500 or 510 preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance and construction safety experience.
• Experience supporting process piping or mechanical construction in industrial/chemical environments.
• Strong knowledge of hazards and controls for pressurized piping, hazardous gases, and related systems.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise Stop Work Authority in the field.

Responsibilities

• Execute the site safety program on the project and train staff in safety requirements.
• Build relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety personnel.
• Assist in creating safety reports and accident investigation documents.
• Educate staff and subcontractors on safety practices and compliance with policies.
• Observe work in the field, coach craft employees, and conduct safety audits.
• Identify hazards and evaluate controls for piping installation and heavy equipment operations.
• Ensure proper energy isolation, permits, PPE, and line of control for hazardous systems.
• Support project supervision to resolve safety issues and stop unsafe work when needed.
