Job summary

Southland Industries in Boise, ID is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the Division Safety Program and promote a proactive safety culture across field teams and job sites.

You will conduct site inspections, document findings, and coordinate training with leadership to ensure OSHA compliance while mentoring junior safety staff.

This role requires OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and a proven construction safety background; the company offers employee ownership and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years as a safety professional in a construction environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences is required or equivalent construction safety experience.
• CHST, ASP or BCSP certifications preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• OSHA 30hr training required.
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor safety staff.
• Strong communication and collaboration with field teams and leadership.
• Proactive approach to safety program implementation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and OSHA information resources.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of job sites to verify OSHA and company compliance and prepare detailed reports.
• Document safety inspections, identify dangerous areas, and recommend corrective procedures.
• Maintain safety documentation including accident and inspection reports and training logs.
• Provide emergency response and assist employees as needed.
• Assist with accident investigations and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and coordinate safety training materials and sessions.
• Train less experienced safety employees and mentor staff.
• Exercise independent judgment while collaborating with leadership on impactful decisions.
