Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Safety Specialist for a New Albany, OH project to support the implementation of ESH programs on site. The role emphasizes fieldwork, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance, with reports to the Area ESH Lead.

You will conduct site inspections, develop safety plans, manage training, and coordinate with craft professionals to ensure safe work practices in hot and cold weather and at heights. A bachelor’s degree in safety and 2–5 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements (OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Strong written and verbal communication; technical report writing.
• Analytical skills for sampling, monitoring, recordkeeping.
• Field inspections and program audits with corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with craft professionals and supervisors.
• Integrate safety requirements across all project phases.
• Provide technical risk assessments and safety reviews.
• Prepare documentation and technical reports.
• Develop and implement safety plans, permits, and training.
• Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Communicate safety requirements to project teams and contractors.
• Conduct routine field inspections and monitor ESH performance.
• Create ESH communications through presentations and bulletins.
• Collaborate with the ESH team across disciplines.
