Westinghouse Electric Company LLC's WECTEC Staffing Services seeks a Safety Specialist to support field safety on Enbridge projects in Salt Lake City, UT. The role focuses on collaborating with partners to address safety issues and perform inspections, audits, and incident follow-up.

The position requires OSHA 30, excavation competence, First Aid/CPR, and 5+ years in health and safety (or a safety degree). It is an onsite, 1-year contract with compensation at $26.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 hour certification required.
• Competent person (excavation) accreditation.
• First Aid/CPR trained and qualified.
• Five years of Health & Safety work experience or degree in safety.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience in the energy industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with external and internal partners to address field safety issues and provide safety support.
• Inspect construction projects and pipe installations; shadow pre-construction activities and coordinate with contractor safety personnel.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with Contractor Safety and Environmental Manual.
• Participate in area safety assessments, inspections, and quality reviews.
• Support incident investigations and corrective action monitoring for projects.
