Job summary

JE Dunn Construction Company seeks a Safety Specialist for the Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) to coordinate and implement field safety programs on routine construction projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field.
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 0–2 years construction or related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and Company policies.
• Conducts safety audits on assigned projects by identifying, documenting and recommending abatement of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to internal and external clients.
• Performs new hire orientation and oversees drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitors the implementation of prime contractor and/or subcontractors’ safety programs.
• Attends project meetings to discuss safety-related matters.
• Supports field leadership in safety program activities and chairs the project safety committee.
• Assists in investigation of project-related accidents and recommends corrective actions.
• Coordinates with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely return-to-work.
