Job description

Job Title: Field Safety Specialist

Reports To:

Safety Director

Location:

Raleigh, North Carolina (Office/Field)

General Purpose of Job:

The Field Safety Specialist will be a key asset in maintaining and monitoring field safety programs, policies, and procedures that comply with OSHA and other relevant standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Recommend measures to protect workers from hazardous situations.
  2. Investigate accidents to identify root causes and suggest preventive measures.
  3. Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for safety compliance.
  4. Conduct safety training and educational programs.
  5. Demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment and PPE, and educate employees on safe work practices.
Skills/Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to apply them to general industry and construction standards.
  2. Field knowledge of safe work practices in industry and construction.
  3. Experience in accident investigations.
  4. Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and inclement weather.
  5. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or a related field.
  2. Experience or advanced knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926.
  3. Experience with LOTO, fall protection, confined spaces, HAZCOM/GHS, rigging/signaling, industrial hygiene, fleet, and tool safety.
  4. Previous HVAC or construction experience preferred.
  5. Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus.
