Qualifications

General Purpose of Job:

The Field Safety Specialist will be a critical asset in sustaining and monitoring field safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous situations.
  • Investigate accidents to identify root causes and provide feedback regarding how accidents may be prevented.
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct safety training and education programs.
  • Demonstrate the use of safety equipment, PPE, and educate employees on safe work practices.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to proficiently apply them to general industry and construction standards.
  • Field knowledge of general industry and construction safe work practices.
  • Experience in conducting accident investigations.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold environments and during inclement weather.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety (or similar).
  • Experience in, or advanced knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926.
  • Experience in LOTO, fall protection, confined spaces, HAZCOM/GHS, rigging/signaling, industrial hygiene, fleet, and tool safety.
  • Previous HVAC or Construction experience preferred.
