Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a Safety Manager for a four-day workweek assignment in Indianapolis, IN. The role is a 1099 contractor position with four 10-hour shifts and a 40-hour workweek on-site, focusing on safety oversight for a mechanical and piping construction project.

The ideal candidate will have OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification, at least five years of construction safety experience, and strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification is required.
• Minimum five years of construction safety experience.
• Experience supporting active commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction regulations.
• Proven ability to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
• Strong field communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical and piping activities.
• Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, orientations, and incident-prevention discussions.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, property damage, and near misses.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, inspection records, training documentation, and incident reports.
