Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Safety Manager for a short-term, 2-week project in Indianapolis, IN. The role is a 1099 contractor with a start ASAP and a typical 50-hour week on a first shift.

Pay is $58/hr for local candidates or $50/hr plus $175/day per diem for travelers, with weekly pay. The job focuses on hands-on safety oversight for foundation construction activities at a pharmaceutical site.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• 3+ years of construction safety experience on foundations or civil projects.
• Experience supporting foundation, civil, geotechnical, or commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for helical pile installation and foundation activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas.
• Conduct routine site inspections, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor drilling, pile installation, equipment operation, and material handling.
• Support compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate with site supervision and the general contractor’s safety personnel.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
• Assist with safety-related communication between stakeholders onsite.
• Participate in incident investigations if required.
• Maintain awareness of changing site conditions and project risks.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.
