Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Safety Specialist to oversee site safety, enforce company policies, and ensure compliance across multiple projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

The role involves hands-on safety leadership, audits, and training, with travel of about 75% locally and 25% regionally. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Safety Management or related field, OSHA 30, and First Aid/CPR certification, plus 2–5 years of heavy civil safety experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Safety Management or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of safety experience in heavy civil construction.
• OSHA 30 required; First Aid/CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Visit heavy civil construction locations in the Mid-Atlantic region as required.
• Develop, implement, and promote safety policies under guidance of Regional Safety Manager or Safety Director.
• Foster a safety-conscious culture and enforce company safety procedures.
