Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Safety Specialist to support the Site Specific Safety Plan, reinforce our safety programs, and ensure compliance with OSHA and project requirements. You will report to the Project Safety Manager and work with craft and operations to maintain a safe work environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, OSHA 30 preferred, 0-2 years of construction safety experience, and willingness to travel and relocate to project sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• 0–2 years of construction safety experience.
• Willing to travel and relocate as required.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, review, updating, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan to all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote buy-in and safety ownership.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority to enforce policies and work plans.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations using leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Assist with incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain project files compliant with OSHA/MSHA regulations and company policies.
