Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking a dedicated Site Safety Lead to join our field team. This full‑time, travel‑heavy role focuses on implementing safety protocols, performing site audits, and delivering training to keep crews safe and compliant.

You will report to the Safety Manager and work with contractors on projects nationwide. Expect 40–50 USD per hour DOE and regular travel, with a strong emphasis on OSHA 1926 standards and clear safety communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' safety experience in construction or similar field.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations and state safety laws.
• Current OSHA 30 (Construction) and First Aid/CPR required.
• Hazwoper, CESCL and SWPPP certifications preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety site walks and identify hazards.
• Lead safety leadership walks with general contractors.
• Provide safety updates to site management and the Safety Manager.
• Perform Pre-Task Plan audits and field evaluations.
• Lead and participate in incident review meetings with clients and GCs.
• Collaborate with field supervision to ensure safety compliance across projects.
