Job summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) in Baytown, TX seeks a Field Safety Coordinator to lead site safety inspections and trainings on heavy construction projects. The role requires enforcing procedures, managing risk, and ensuring OSHA compliance across active job sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 2 years' experience in a Safety position in heavy construction.
• Proof of OSHA 510 or OSHA 30 Hour Course.
• Basic knowledge of atmospheric testing requirements and use of four gas monitors.
• Ability to interpret evaluation results/feedback and adjust to improve performance.
• Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and implement safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct walk-through inspections of field job sites to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and unsafe employee acts.
• Organize and prepare safety meetings and training.
• Ensure employees are following safe work procedures as specified in New Hire Orientation, toolbox meetings, and OSHA-required training.
• Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous safety conditions and environmental risks.
• Make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
• Respond to and conduct accident investigations and injury/accident case management.
• Apply the Company's Substance Abuse Testing policy including drug screen collections and HIPAA records management.
• Partner with HR & site leaders on employee issues and concerns.
• Conduct mandatory new hire safety orientation training as needed.
• Administer the safe permitting process (Lockout/Tagout).
