Job summary

HazTek Inc is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to provide owner-side field safety oversight at a large pharmaceutical facility in Rahway, NJ. The role involves supporting active construction and CQV activities, coaching contractors, and maintaining a strong field presence to promote a Zero Harm environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six years of construction safety experience in active project environments.
• OSHA 510 certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and state/local safety requirements.
• Experience reviewing high-risk work plans, permits, JSAs, SPAs, and field controls.
• Experience supporting incident investigations, root-cause analysis, CAPA, and effectiveness reviews.
• Ability to coach and influence contractors, craft personnel, supervisors, and site leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide field safety oversight for contractors, project teams, and EPCM partners.
• Maintain a visible presence across active construction and CQV work areas.
• Coach contractor leadership and craft personnel on hazard recognition and risk management.
• Review HSAs, SPAs, permits, and high-risk work plans to ensure hazards and controls are addressed.
• Conduct field inspections and safety walks; track deficiencies and verify corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, CAPA development, and effectiveness reviews.
• Monitor safety observations, near misses, incidents, and safety KPIs across projects.
• Participate in safety meetings, peer audits, and contractor safety reviews.
• Support project turnovers, commissioning-readiness, and Management of Change activities.
