The Wesson Group, LLC is growing and seeking a Safety Engineer to support and improve safety programs across heavy civil, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects. The role involves about 80% field time, coordinating with project teams, and promoting safe work practices in New York State.

You will work with safety managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure compliance, incident response, and continuous improvement in safety performance.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Entry-level to 5 years of experience in construction safety, field operations, or related industries preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with field crews, project teams, subcontractors, and management.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct safety orientations and onboarding for new hires and project personnel.
• Monitor drug testing activities and follow-up requirements.
• Support safety oversight for self-performed civil construction activities and field safety monitoring.
• Spend ~80% of time in the field supporting project teams and coaching employees on safe practices.
• Identify high-hazard activities and coordinate additional support as needed.
• Conduct routine jobsite inspections and safety audits for compliance.
• Investigate incidents and assist with root causes and corrective actions.
• Prepare safety documentation, incident reports, and corrective action tracking logs.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.
